Browser and modem speeds
This site will work with all browsers, but some features such as "rollovers" require Internet Explorer 4.0+ (click here to download) or Netscape 3.0+ (click here to download). Minimum modem speed is 28.8kbs, or for the best experience use 56kbs or better.

Quicktime3 and Adobe Acrobat
Some features of this site require these plug-ins. The Quicktime3 plug-in is required for video and audio download and playback. Click here for information on Quicktime3. The Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view the employee problems and profiles. Click here for information on Adobe Acrobat.

How to play video and audio clips
Once the video or audio clip has downloaded, start the clip by clicking on the arrow (as shown below). You may pause the video/audio clip by clicking again on the same place (pause). Click again to play.



How the site is organized
The menu on the left will navigate you into the content pages on this site. The Library material is organized into five indexes, each with submenus.

Academic Concepts:   Subdivided by academic subject area
Student Activities: Listed by topic
Work Skills: Subdivided according to the SCANS framework
Job and Career: Listed by job title and subdivided by career cluster
Company: Listed alphabetically

Examples:
You are interested in the academic concept of "ratio." On the main page, click on the Academic Concepts index. On the Academic Concepts index page, under the subject heading "mathematics," locate and click on the concept "ratio."

You want to download a "problem using ratio" for use in class. On the main page, click on the Student Activities index. On the Student Activities index page, see the category "Ratio" and click on the problem below.

You want to find out about "troubleshooting." On the main page, click on the Work Skills index. On the Work Skills index page, look under the appropriate SCANS category, in this case "Working with Technology." Click on "Troubleshooting."

Linking to other pages
In addition to the main indexes, each employee page links to other pages pertaining to the same employee. For example, from the Concepts page on which Kim Cineceros of Sony talks about ratio, there are links to all of Kim's pages on the site.

How to download Employee Problems and Profiles
Employee pages have the option to download problems and profiles in Adobe Acrobat format for printing. Click on the corresponding link (ex. below) to download the ".pdf" file. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat you will have the option to save the file. Be sure to remember where you saved the file. If you do have Adobe Acrobat Reader the file will automatically open. To print the file, click on file from the menu, then select the print option.
